Three down, one to go for No. 4 Jackson volleyball team
November 5th, 2010
The Jackson Timberwolves had to come from behind on Friday night against Snohomish. They did so, winning three straight games after dropping Game 1 to the Panthers in the Northwest District title match at Marysville-Pilchuck.
The victory, led by Leigh-Ann Haataja’s 17 kills, gave Jackson its third “title” of 2010. The Timberwolves have won the WesCo South, the overall WesCo championship, and now the District title.
That leaves Jackson with just one championship remaining – the Class 4A state title that will be decided next Thursday-Saturday at the Toyota Center in Kennewick.
“We’re ready for that one,” Jackson coach Ashley Allen said on Saturday. “Watch out, here we come.”
The Timberwolves, No. 4 in The Times 4A rankings, will leave Wednesday morning to cross the mountains. Jackson will partake in the players’ social at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, and Allen will participate in the coaches meeting that night before either a 9 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. first-round match on Thursday.
First-round state pairings will be announced on Sunday.
